Today is monumental day in the cigar and whiskey world!
We've been working and refining this blend ever since we launched the Oak & Eden Rye & Spire Whiskey. We wanted to make the most absolutely perfect cigar to pair with our Rye whiskey.
After about a hundred different tweaks and changes...we finally nailed it!
And not to toot our own horn...but I dare say we hit it outta the park! OAK & EDEN RYE BLEND is the perfect balance of creamy and sweet with spicy and strong. (Just like a top-shelf Rye whiskey!)
OAK & EDEN RYE BLEND is a full-bodied, med/full-strength box-pressed 6x52 prensado toro. Tobaccos used are from Nicaragua, Indonesia, Ecuador, and Peru. This blend showcases some of the finest vintage tobaccos we have hidden away in the EZHQ aging barns! All tobaccos are between 9-13 years aged!
First light is a blast of flavors! Heavy whipping cream, warm caramel, and toasted almond rush across the palate. White pepper, raw leather, and nutmeg immediately follow. White oak and vanilla bean linger on the palate. The retrohale adds a warming cinnamon burn.
As it progresses, the creaminess turns distinctly to a European butter. Clove, espresso, and dark chocolate emerge. The strength grows with a honey sweetness beginning to appear. (The changes and complexity are astounding!)
Halfway, the blend "rounds out" and the caramel note comes to the fore. Toasted marshmallow, licorice, maple, and milk chocolate join the mix. A wave of black pepper and nutmeg spice washes over on the finish. So amazing!
The last third gets even better! The character of the cigar smooths out into a "sophisticated" profile. Notes of white chocolate, cedar wood, sweet tea, and whiskey barrel appear. Additional hints of red pepper flakes and rye balance the blend perfectly! You'll smoke this all the way to the nub of the nub!
