BEE’S KNEES BLACK is a full-bodied, med/full-strength 6.25x48 corona gorda. Wrapper is a silky 12-Year-Aged San Andrés Maduro leaf. Binder and filler tobaccos will remain a closely guarded secret. All tobaccos are aged between 5-13 years!
First light is a huge wave of creamy dark chocolate, honeycomb, read oak, and black peppercorn. Espresso, aged leather, and clove immediately follow. The retrohale (where the magic happens) has a spicy pepper burn. The finish lingers on the palate for several minutes adding massive sweet and creamy flavors.
As it progresses, clover honey, vanilla bean, and nutmeg are added. Cafe latte and toasted nuts appear along with hints of molasses and black tea.
Halfway the blend begins to "round out" and the flavor of aged tobacco begins to strongly emerge. Big notes of caramel, mocha, custard, and rum barrel. Hints of graham cracker and amaretto. The finish tastes like sugar cookies. I don't know how else to say it...This cigar is phenomenal!
Last third, everything crescendos! Bold blasts of sugar cane, cinnamon stick, licorice, red pepper, and butter. Creamed honey, maple, and brown ale. The burn is perfect and the cigar stays cool all the way to the nub!
